editing update

edits are progressing quite well. in the beginning, i was afraid that i would hit mental blocks, and not be able to write extra bits and pieces when and where they were required. i'm finding though (touch wood) that it's been quite an interesting challenge - kinda like spending your days doing a series of mini writing excercises, except they all fit in to the story somewhere. that's not to say that everything i write comes out excellent the first time. the edits that i am choosing to elaborate on are the ones that make me think, and i'm having a fun time convincing myself that i've explained things thoroughly enough. am i making sense? i hope so! the ones that i'm choosing to ignore - those are the ones that i'm sure will give me an ulcer futher on down the track somewhere. ah well, wait and watch i guess.

another exciting development - today i received a mock-up of my cover! it's very rough, more of a concept design at this stage - and the good news is i love it. it's a little bit indian/a little bit urban melbourne - a lot like me, really! (can't say fairer than that!). i can't really say much about the cover yet; i don't want to spoil the surprise for you! i will say this - i haven't seen anything like it before. it's very colourful and the imagery is quite evocative. i can't wait till i can share it with you all...
