i had a piece in the A2 section of the saturday age this weekend, about my mother's wedding dress. you can have a read of it online here (my bit is on page 6-7). the original article had a picture of my mum and dad on their wedding day, together with on of my mum's brothers. for the benefit of readers who weren't able to get their hands on a hard copy of the paper that day, here is the photograph:

also, allow me to plug an event that i'm very much looking forward to - the melbourne launch of black inc.'s 'growing up asian in australia' anthology, edited by alice pung. i have started reading this, and am loving it. the panel should be great fun. details follow:
