on re-reading the last post, i feel compelled to apologise. but, as ova girl said in her comments, 'the depression? ...isn't that a huge part of every writers life?'. i guess it is, and just quietly - thank you for understanding. things have taken a turn and i'm feeling more and more excited about the book with every passing day. twenty five days to go! twenty five days to the day that i've been imagining for the past lifetime.
the rest of the gratis copies of the novel arrived while i was at work today - i came home to nine shiny novels peeking out at me through styrofoam bean thingies (the tenth had already been claimed by my brother, who luckily was at home when the courier guy came to deliver them). i had taken one of the ones i'd received earlier to work today, to share with the rest of my team (who i'd filled in about it when we were in training together). their reactions made me get all excited about it again, which was nice. the rest of the people at work didn't know about the book at all, so i decided to just walk up to a couple of people and say 'have a look at this', and hand it to them. the looks on their faces when they digested that it was my name on the cover were priceless. i hadn't really been in the kind of place mentally that made me want to run around and tell everyone before today, so it was an interesting excercise. i got an email from a fellow employee about it, and she said 'finally! a little bit of culture in this place!', which i thought was cute. i have a feeling there will be a large fosters contingent at the bollywood party on the 6th (and i hope there will be, too).

Personally, I can't spend 365 days a year being cheery, chirpy and up. I don't expect you to be a Pollyanna person either. The blog is a diary of your life - every aspect.
This (publishing a novel)is all unkown territory for you so if it is a little daunting sometimes please remember that we are backing you all the way. We believe in you.
I look forward to catching up with you at the bedford through July.
Lisa
